welcome to the gamers longue
here's the deal
hi friends,
my name is Matt and i'm a lifelong video gamer. i love me some video games. i started playing games competitive at around 14, i started building gaming websites at 16, i started streaming games at 18, and then i got a real job with real commitments and it became a side hobby for awhile. like… 16 years awhile.
i've recently got back into streaming as a hobby, but it's also a pretty serious commitment. i show up 5 days a week, try to put on the best show possible, and am really interested in growing a community… with you. consider joining my gaming discord (called Teammates) if you want to just start sharing ideas, give feedback, or just want a small community to chat games with.
i have a passion for creating videos and motion graphics, building out a good design, and trying to create as entertaining a stream as possible. it's a work in progress. would love to have some familiar faces & old friends share this experience of building and growing a channel with me. help a bro out!
speaking of bros, my actual bro is helping me put together a YouTube page. he's creating some pretty funny highlight videos. check out these recent avowed highlights (part 1, part 2, youtube short 1, youtube short 2) to get a taste of what the stream is like.
need some incentive to join? if you join this month (April) and chat at least once, you get entered to win a free Xbox One/PS5. come back every day and chat more to improve those chances. details for this giveaway are below.
finally: it's friggin' hard streaming to an audience of only 2 or 3 people. it kinda sucks, to be honest. if you can help me by showing up to a few streams, saying hi, and just chatting with me, that's really what the stream is all about. i'm more interested in chatting with folks after their workday (I stream at 6pm on every weekday). for me, rather than going out to a happy hour, i'd rather socialize with friends (and new viewers) from the comfort of my home, doing what i love, and socializing through the context of streaming video games. to me, this is just a lot more fun than going out, and i hope you'll join me sometime and chat with me.
help me out
the biggest thing you can do to help is show up on Twitch, say hi, and chat with me! it's meant to be a fun/relaxing/silly thing you can join every workday, but even if you only pop in very couple of weeks, that's completely cool. hell, even if you don't feel interacting, help me boost those numbers by just joining and leaving it up in the background. yes, game the system with me. bwhahaha.
if you are interested in collaborating, get in touch with me! i'm interested in streaming buddies (e.g., let's play a game together), need chat moderators, and would love to do some community-oriented events (like perhaps a YouTube video watchaton, a comedy podcast, or a monthly Discord hangout or something like that). i'm interested in any and all opportunities. write me a message on discord, or toss me an email, or chat with through FB/IG/whatever.
if you're looking for a part-time video editor and/or promotion role, also get in touch ($20/hour up to $2k/mo).
