FPS Gaming Community Launched

Logo-1-Square

FPS Gaming Community launched earlier this month, and I’m very proud of how it’s turned out. It runs off a Wordpress installation, but it’s very non-blog-like in functionality. It’s got a nice Web 2.0 feel to it, while having this great dark, blue glowing vibrancy to it.

I got the theme from Elegant Themes (I’m now a huge fan), and edited it quite extensively. I’m very happy with how it turned out, design-wise.

So what is FPS Gaming Community, anyway? Well, to put it plainly, it’s a community for gamers. Like the name didn’t give that part away! But what sort of things does said community do?

  • Maintains a collection of fast, updated game servers with friendly admins and consistent rules.
We’re sponsored kindly by the folks at FPS Gaming Solutions.
  • Has a Ventrilo voice chat that anyone from the community may use to stay coordinated.
We’re sponsored kindly by the folks at MainVoice.
  • Events and activities that all members can get involved with! From “Late Night” sessions to pub events to tournaments and more, we plan on making gaming more fun and social.
  • Clubs that any member can start up that focuses in on their particular interest – whether it’s a specific game, collection of games, a certain niche, or even a competitive team!
  • A website and forums that offer even more cool content as well as a place to come together as a community and mobilize (hopefully for world domination, if everything goes to plan).

So, basically, check it out. The domain is www.fpsgamingcommunity.com. I’m very proud of how it’s turning out, and can’t wait to see it expand even further.

Quake Live TV: BiBS Highlights

I’ve been doing some shoutcasting for quite awhile with my staff of Quake Live professionals over at Quake Live TV. We’ve got a ton of Quake Live coverage, including many shoutcasts!

Anyway, something I was involved with a couple weeks ago was the Bright it Back Safely CTF Championship, hosted by the leader shoutcast: GreasedScotsman. I was co-hosting the cast, and it was very cool to watch. There was some awesome moments, and luckily they’ve all been captured. GreasedScotsman, the lead shoutcaster and web developer, has put together a brief highlight reel of the most memorable moments. It’s really worth checking out. It’s only three minutes long – and the flag capture at the end of the video is really something phenomenal.

Watch the high quality, full version on Quake Live TV.

Going to QuakeCon

This is my big LAN tournament this year, and it’s shaping up to be a good one. The site I created a few months ago, EnemyTerritory.tv, has been invited to cover the event as Press. This means me, as well as the staff of the site, all have press passes. Sweet!

Also, looking to compete. I really wanted to get on an existing team’s roster, but it looks like more and more we will be putting together a team of ringers at the last minute. Oh well!

QuakeCon is July 31 – August 3rd. I’ll be flying out there with a good friend of mine who works on the EnemyTerritory.tv site as well as a shoutcaster, GreasedScotsman. Still need to finalize rooming plans, initially I was planning to stay with FrankSinatra (also of the site), but he has been AFK for a few weeks. Oh noes!

компютриHit me up if your interested in rooming, have an opening on a team, want to put together a team, or hell if you just want to meet up at the event.

I’m looking forward to it!

New ETQW Frag Video

I put together a frag video today using footage from my Enemy Territory: Quake Wars clan matches. Definitely a cool, short little film, be sure to check it out!

  • Watch it on Vimeo. If you want added clarity & better colors, be sure to download the original file (bottom right hand corner)
  • More Details & Feedback. Read a bit more about the background of the film, how it was made, as well as any comments on the ETQW Community Forum.

Hope you enjoy! Don’t be shy if you want to leave a comment, I hugely appreciate them!

ETQW Movie: “The Replay” hk vs n3m

Check out my latest movie for Enemy Territory: Quake Wars. This video features highlights of my competitive team, Hell’s Katz Squad. We play Team Nemesis in Week 1 of CAL Competition.

Trailer:

In the DivX version, there is an audio sync issue. Also, in both version of the trailer, I misspelled Crossbreed. Sorry guys!
